In the first half of 2024, China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) exports reached 777,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 38%, according to data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (كام). This surge underscores China’s growing dominance in the global NEV market, with key destinations including Europe, جنوب شرق آسيا, and Latin America.
Major Chinese automakers such as BYD, SAIC Motor, and Geely have expanded their overseas production and distribution networks, contributing to stronger international competitiveness. In June alone, NEV exports exceeded 140,000 units, marking a record high for a single month.
Industry analysts attribute the growth to improved battery technology, cost efficiency, and strategic partnerships with local distributors abroad. Additionally, Chinese-made electric buses and commercial vehicles are gaining traction in public transportation projects across emerging markets.
The Ministry of Commerce has emphasized continued support for high-quality green exports, including streamlined customs procedures and export financing for NEV manufacturers. As global demand for sustainable transportation rises, China is positioning itself as a central hub for the next generation of electric mobility solutions.
