China’s Leading Electric Bus Manufacturer Secures Major Overseas Order for Eco-Friendly Electric Coach Buses for Group Travel

Hefei, China – June 10, 2024 – Anhui Ankai Automobile Co., Ltd., a prominent Chinese manufacturer of new energy vehicles, has signed a landmark export agreement with a European tourism operator for 120 eco-friendly electric coach buses designed specifically for group travel. The deal, valued at over $45 million, marks one of the largest single exports of Chinese-made electric coaches to date.

The order includes customized 45-seat electric coaches equipped with advanced battery technology, offering a range of up to 400 kilometers on a single charge. Designed with sustainability in mind, the buses feature regenerative braking systems, energy-efficient HVAC units, and interior materials made from recycled content—making them ideal for eco-conscious tour operators and corporate travel services.

“These eco-friendly electric coach buses for group travel represent the next generation of sustainable mass transportation,” said Zhang Wei, Export Director at Ankai. “With zero tailpipe emissions and significantly lower noise levels, they are perfectly suited for urban sightseeing, intercity tours, and airport shuttle services across Europe.”

The European client, based in Germany, plans to deploy the fleet across multiple countries including Austria, Switzerland, and the Netherlands, focusing on green tourism routes and carbon-neutral travel packages. The delivery is scheduled in phases beginning September 2024.

China has emerged as a global leader in electric commercial vehicle production, with exports of electric buses rising by 38% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2024, according to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). Government support for new energy vehicles and aggressive domestic adoption have enabled Chinese manufacturers to achieve economies of scale, enhancing competitiveness in international markets.

Industry analysts note growing global demand for sustainable group transportation solutions, particularly in regions with strict emissions regulations. The shift toward eco-friendly electric coach buses for group travel is being driven by tourism companies aiming to meet ESG goals and respond to consumer preference for green travel options.

This export deal underscores China’s expanding footprint in the global green transportation sector and highlights the rising international appeal of its high-performance, cost-effective electric coach solutions.
