China’s Exports of Green Energy Products Surge in 2024, Boosting Global Trade Ties

In the first quarter of 2024, China reported a 28% year-on-year increase in exports of green energy products, including electric buses, solar panels, and lithium-ion batteries, according to data released by the General Administration of Customs.

Notably, electric bus exports rose by 42%, with growing demand from Europe, Southeast Asia, and Latin America. Chinese manufacturers have secured major contracts to supply wheelchair accessible coach bus rental fleets for senior groups in countries including Germany, Канада, and New Zealand, reflecting a rising global emphasis on inclusive and sustainable public transportation.

Industry analysts attribute the surge to both technological advancements and favorable international policies promoting carbon neutrality. Leading Chinese EV makers such as Yutong and BYD have expanded overseas production facilities and service networks to meet rising demand.

The Ministry of Commerce emphasized that green trade cooperation has become a key pillar of China’s foreign trade strategy, with ongoing efforts to strengthen logistics support and cross-border standards alignment.

This momentum underscores China’s expanding role in shaping the future of accessible, eco-friendly transportation worldwide.
